Wedding Bouquet

My Background

My name is William “Bill” Welter and I have been a professionally ordained minister since 2008. I’m ordained by the American Fellowship Church in California and certified to perform marriages in the State of Wisconsin. My services are available year-round, with proper notice and availability of your wedding date.

I was born and raised in the Episcopal Church. Long ago, I seriously considered becoming an ordained minister in the church, but college, marriage and a business career changed my path.

After a long and rewarding career as an advertising and marketing executive, I retired to Sturgeon Bay in Door County with Pam, my wife of 43 years. We have two grown, married children and grandchildren. Pam’s Door County roots go back several generations, so we enjoy a very special bond with the Peninsula.

I’m very comfortable in front of a crowd and have been described as friendly, charming and sincere. It would be a pleasure for me to help you celebrate one of the most important days of your life.

Somewhere between all our laughs, long talks,
stupid little fights and all our lame jokes...I fell in love.

Types of Services

You may choose from various types of services — from traditional, contemporary or customized — to complement your vision of the day. I perform non-denominational services, as well as those with more Christian values, and am open and flexible to discuss your preferences. The choice is yours.

The location of your Door County wedding is up to you, of course. The Peninsula has an array of lovely venues and stunning outdoor settings that can serve as a beautiful backdrop for your service. I can accommodate almost any request, except skydiving or underwater officiating.

I look forward to giving a personal touch to your ceremony and helping to make your special occasion meaningful and memorable.

Happy marriages begin when we marry the one we love;
they blossom when we love the one we married.

My Fee

My entire fee of $250 is donated to the Door County Humane Society. Please make your check payable to DCHS. The bride and groom, or whoever writes the check, can take advantage of the tax deduction.

The Door County Humane Society is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. All contributions are tax-deductible. Reasonable additional fees (non-tax deductible) may be required for travel and expenses to locations outside of Door County.

Love one another and you will be happy.
It’s as simple and as difficult as that.
